  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and minced garlic.
  2. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and rub the spice mixture evenly over all sides.
  3. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and additional seasonings; stir to mix well.
  4. Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker and pour the cooking liquid over it.
