Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
- 8 oz pasta (such as farfalle)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 oz fresh basil (more to taste)
- 1/2 cup pine nuts (lightly toasted)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the lemon slices and minced garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from heat and stir in another 2 tablespoons of butter until melted. Set aside.
- Boil a pot of water and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain using a colander.
- Return the hot drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic-lemon mixture. Stir well to coat.
- Add the remaining butter and freshly grated Parmesan cheese, stirring on low-medium heat for about two minutes until combined. Season with salt if needed.
- Fold in half of the chopped fresh basil evenly throughout the pasta.
- Serve topped with remaining basil, toasted pine nuts, and cracked black pepper.
